Our Beginnings
In March 2020, the pandemic pushed many members of the
Nihon Karate Club at UC Irvine
to return to the Bay Area. As lockdowns lifted, some members started meeting in local parks
to train together. One by one, club members graduated from the university that brought us
together.
In June 2022, we started Nihon Karate Club Bay Area
so we could continue to grow our karate together in this new stage of life.
Our Federation
We're proud to be federated with Japan Karate-Dō Jinen-Kai International. Founded in 2015, Jinen-Kai aims to build the next generation of martial artists, cultivating individuals with strong 心技体 (heart, technique, physique), while remaining true to the roots of Shindō-Jinen Ryū and authentic Japanese karate-dō.
